Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.


Then all the people of the land went to the house of Baal and tore it down; his altars and his images they broke in pieces, and they killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, in front of the altars. The priest posted guards over the house of the Lord.


So they laid hands on her; she went into the entrance of the Horse Gate of the king’s house, and there they put her to death.

And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed in its presence the signs by which he deceived those who had received the brand of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

The torrent Kishon swept them away, the onrushing torrent, the torrent Kishon. March on, my soul, with might!
