“You shall not defraud your neighbor; you shall not steal; and you shall not keep for yourself the wages of a laborer until morning.


They covet fields and seize them, houses and take them away; they oppress householder and house, people and their inheritance.


Then I will draw near to you for judgment; I will be swift to bear witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who oppress the hired workers in their wages, the widow, and the orphan, against those who thrust aside the alien and do not fear me, says the Lord of hosts.


But he replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?


You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. You shall not defraud. Honor your father and mother.’ ”


For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong has been done, and there is no partiality.


that no one wrong or exploit a brother or sister in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, just as we have already told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.


Listen! The wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.
