As for what fell among the thorns, these are the ones who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.


Do you not know that, if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?


Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I therefore take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never!


Do you not know that whoever is united to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For it is said, “The two shall be one flesh.”


Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?


If you have ordinary cases, then, do you appoint as judges those who have no standing in the church?


No one serving in the army gets entangled in everyday affairs; the soldier’s aim is to please the enlisting officer.


for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.


For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of deepest darkness to be kept until the judgment;


And the angels who did not keep their own position but deserted their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains in deepest darkness for the judgment of the great day.
