But Judah said to him, “The man solemnly warned us, saying, ‘You shall not see my face unless your brother is with you.’


For I solemnly warned your ancestors when I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, warning them persistently, even to this day, saying, “Obey my voice.”


Then the angel of the Lord warned Joshua, saying


except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and persecutions are waiting for me.


As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered.”


Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with holiness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you.


Are they ministers of Christ? I am talking like a madman—I am a better one: with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless floggings, and often near death.


But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession and through us spreads in every place the fragrance that comes from knowing him.


For it is we who are the circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and boast in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh—


For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?


How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we feel before our God because of you?


Now then, listen to their voice; only, you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.”
