But the king’s word prevailed against Joab. So Joab departed and went throughout all Israel and came back to Jerusalem.


May the Lord give you increase, both you and your children.

your offspring would have been like the sand and your descendants like its grains; their name would never be cut off or destroyed from before me.


May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times more and bless you, as he has promised you!
