In Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron, David took more concubines and wives, and more sons and daughters were born to David.


Among his wives were seven hundred princesses and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned away his heart.


David then perceived that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.


These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, and Nathan; Solomon,


And of all my sons, for the Lord has given me many, he has chosen my son Solomon to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
