And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.


In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Si´nai.


For they were departed from Reph´idim, and were come to the desert of Si´nai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.


And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.


And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.


On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.


And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,


These are the commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Si´nai.


and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.


And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.


And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Si´nai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,


And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them;


And the space in which we came from Ka´desh–barne´a, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the Lord sware unto them.


For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
