When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

he it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe-latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
