And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gil´e-ad with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahana´im with her suburbs,


And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?


And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,


Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.


The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.


And, behold, thou hast with thee Shim´e-i the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahu´rim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahana´im: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the Lord, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.


Then David came to Mahana´im. And Ab´salom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.


Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Gre´cia shall come.


Return, return, O Shu´lamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shu´lamite? As it were the company of two armies.


Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.


And Eli´sha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Eli´sha.


Ahin´adab the son of Iddo had Mahana´im:


And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ish–bo´sheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahana´im to Gibeon.


For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.


Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
