And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well La´hai–roi.


And Isaac came from the way of the well La´hai–roi; for he dwelt in the south country.


Wherefore he called that place Beer–sheba; because there they sware both of them.


And they returned, and came to En–mish´pat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amal´ekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Haz´azon–ta´mar.


And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ish´ma-el.


And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
