So Ab´salom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there three years.


And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahin´o-am the Jez´reelitess;


and his second, Chil´e-ab, of Ab´igail the wife of Nabal the Car´melite; and the third, Ab´salom the son of Ma´acah the daughter of Tal´mai king of Geshur;


The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?


Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
