And unto Ab´salom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.


But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zido´ni-ans, and Hittites;


the third, Ab´salom the son of Ma´achah the daughter of Tal´mai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adoni´jah the son of Haggith:


These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.


Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.


Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
