And Ben–ha´dad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.


But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.


And Eli´sha came to Damascus; and Ben–ha´dad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.


there was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it.


but I will send a fire into the house of Haz´a-el, which shall devour the palaces of Ben–ha´dad.


And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
