And the lowly things of the world, and the despised things God has chosen, and the things which are not, in order that He might nullify the things which are,


"For his letters,"they say, "are severe and boisterous, but his bodily presence [is] feeble, and his speech amounts to nothing."


For although He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we are weak in Him, yet we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.


Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not despair,


For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made by hand, eternal in the heavens.


as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.


even when we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),


To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,


To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;


having been buried together with Him in baptism, in which also you were raised together through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.


in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.


For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, just as you know what kind [of men ]we were among you for your sake.


that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,


Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
