Numbers 21:1 - Easy To Read Version

1 The Canaanite king of Arad lived in the Negev. [275] He heard that the people of Israel were coming on the road to Atharim. So the king went out and attacked the people of Israel. Arad captured some of the people and made them prisoners.

The Kenite people left the City of Palm Trees (Jericho) and went with the men of Judah. Those people went to the Desert of Judah to live with the people there. This was in the Negev [8] near the city Arad. (The Kenite people were from the family of Moses’ father-in-law.)
