You were very patient with our ancestors.\par You let them mistreat you for many years.\par You warned them with your Spirit.\par You sent the prophets to warn them.\par But our ancestors {\cf2\super [58]} didn’t listen.\par So you gave them to people in other countries.\par


Some of the other people grabbed the servants, beat them, and killed them.


“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets. {\cf2\super [361]} You kill with rocks those men that God sent to you. Many, many times I wanted to help your people. I wanted to gather your people together like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. But you did not let me.


Be happy and glad. You have a great reward waiting for you in heaven. People did those same bad things to the prophets {\cf2\super [60]} that lived before you.


Then the man sent another servant to the farmers. The farmers hit this servant on the head. They showed no respect for him.


“The man had one person left to send to the farmers. This person was his son. The man loved his son. But he decided to send the son to the farmers. The son was the last person he could send. The man said, ‘The farmers will respect my son.’


I tell you that Elijah has already come. And people did to him all the \{bad\} things they wanted to do. The Scriptures said this would happen to him.”


Give love and mercy the same as your Father gives love and mercy.
