That night the brothers stopped at a place to spend the night. One of the brothers opened his sack to get some grain for his donkey. And there in the sack, he saw his money!

On the way to Egypt, Moses stopped at a place to spend the night. The Lord met Moses at that place and tried to kill him. [36]


But \{God,\} my Master, will show you a sign:


But Joseph had no sexual union with Mary until she gave birth to the son. And Joseph named the son Jesus.


This is only the son of the carpenter. And his mother is Mary. His brothers are James, Joseph, Simon and Judas.


Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes to live in. The birds have nests to live in. But the Son of Man {\cf2\super [96]} has no place where he can rest his head.”


The Samaritan went to him and poured olive oil and wine {\cf2\super [196]} on his wounds. Then he covered the man’s wounds with cloth. The Samaritan had a donkey. He put the hurt man on his donkey, and he took him to an inn. At the inn, the Samaritan cared for him.


While Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem, the time came for Mary to have the baby.


That night, some shepherds were in the fields there watching their sheep.


The Word {\cf2\super [5]} became a man and lived among us. We saw his glory—the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father. The Word was full of grace (kindness) and truth.


You know the grace (kindness) of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know that Christ was rich \{with God\}, but for you he became poor. Christ did this so that you could become rich by his becoming poor.


But when the right time came, God sent his Son. God’s Son was born from a woman. God’s Son lived under the law. {\cf2\super [48]}
