The men of Israel that were hiding saw this. They quickly came out from their hiding place and hurried toward the city. They entered the city and took control of it. Then the soldiers started fires to burn the city.


Joshua had held his spear toward Ai as a sign to his people to destroy the city. And Joshua did not stop until all the people of Ai were destroyed.


Then you should come out of your hiding place and take control of the city. The Lord your God will give you the power to win.


The Philistine (Goliath) slowly walked closer and closer to David. Goliath’s helper walked in front of him, carrying the shield.


David said to the Philistine (Goliath), “You come to me using sword, spear, and javelin. [160] But I come to you in the name of the Lord All-Powerful, the God of the armies of Israel! You have said bad things about him.


Goliath wore bronze protectors on his legs. He had a bronze javelin [150] tied on his back.
