So, this is what I did: Every Friday evening, just before dark, I commanded the gatekeepers to shut and lock the gates to Jerusalem. They were not to be opened until the Sabbath {\cf2\super [88]} day was over. I put some of my own men at the gates. Those men were commanded to make sure that no load was brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day.


Your gates will always be open.\par They will not be closed night or day.\par Nations and kings will bring\par their wealth to you.\par


The Lord says,\par “At that time, people will try hard\par to find Israel’s guilt.\par But there will be no guilt.\par People will try to find Judah’s sins,\par but no sins will be found.\par Why? Because I am saving a few\par survivors {\cf2\super [410]} from Israel and Judah.\par And I am forgiving them\par for all of their sins.”\par


All kinds of fruit trees will grow on both sides of the river. Their leaves never will become dry and fall. The fruit will never stop growing on those trees. The trees will produce fruit every month. Why? Because the water for the trees comes from the temple. The fruit from the trees will be for food, and their leaves will be for healing.”

So the king’s men went out of the city, and the people closed the city gates. The king’s men went to look for the two men from Israel. They went to the Jordan River and looked at all the places where people cross the river.
