Joshua 10:11 - Easy To Read Version

11 Then the army of Israel chased the enemy down the road from Beth Horon to Azekah. While they were chasing the enemy, the Lord caused large hailstones to fall from the sky. Many of the enemy were killed by these large hailstones. More men were killed by the hailstones than by the swords of the soldiers of Israel.

The Lord will fight like he did at Mount Perazim. The Lord will be angry like he was in Gibeon Valley. {\cf2\super [262]} Then the Lord will do the things he must do. The Lord will do some strange things. But he will finish his work. His work is a stranger’s job.


The Lord will cause all people to hear his great voice. The Lord will cause all people to see his powerful arm come down with anger. That arm will be like a great fire that burns everything. The Lord’s power will be like a great storm with much rain and hail.


Tell those men that I will send hail and a strong rain (enemy army). The wind will blow hard and a tornado will come. Then the wall will fall down.


Why? Because the Lord your God is going with you. He will help you fight against your enemies. The Lord your God will help you win!’


Then God’s temple {\cf2\super [89]} in heaven was opened. The Holy Box of the Agreement {\cf2\super [90]} \{that God gave to his people\} could be seen in his temple. Then there were flashes of lightning, noises, thunder, an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.


Giant hailstones fell on the people from the sky. These hailstones weighed about 100 pounds each. People cursed God because of this trouble of the hail. This trouble was a terrible thing.


The stars fought {them} from heaven. From their paths {across the sky}, they fought against Sisera.
