Joshua 1:7 - Easy To Read Version

7 But you must also be strong and brave about another thing. You must be sure to obey the commands my servant Moses gave you. If you follow his teachings exactly, then you will be successful in everything you do.

“I am about to die, like all men must. But you are growing stronger and becoming a man.


Now, carefully obey all the commands of the Lord your God. Carefully obey all his laws and commands and decisions and agreements. Obey everything that is written in the Law of Moses. If you do this, then you will be successful in everything you do and every place you go.


Josiah did the things that the Lord said were right. Josiah followed God like his ancestor [268] David. Josiah obeyed God’s teachings—he did exactly what God wanted.


And you will have success, if you are careful to obey the rules and laws that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid.


But Asa, you and the people of Judah and Benjamin, be strong. Don’t be weak, don’t give up because you will get a reward for your good work!”


Uzziah followed God in the time of Zechariah’s life. Zechariah taught Uzziah how to respect and obey God. When Uzziah was obeying the Lord, God gave him success.


Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you seen my servant Job? There is no person on earth like Job. Job is a good and faithful man. He worships God and refuses to do evil things.”


Lord God All-Powerful, come back to us.\par Accept us. Save us.\par


Don’t leave the straight path—the way that is good and right. But always turn away from evil.


I lead people in the right way.\par I lead them along the paths\par of right judgment.\par


Then he said, ‘Daniel, don’t be afraid. God loves you very much. Peace be with you. Be strong now, be strong.’


Then Moses put his hands on him to show that he was the new leader. He did this the way the Lord had told him.


“So you must obey every command I tell you today. Then you will be strong. And you will be able to go across the Jordan River and take the land that you are ready to enter.


“You must be careful to do everything I command you. Don’t add anything to the things I tell you, and don’t take anything away.


You must not turn away from any of the teachings that I give you today. You must not turn away to the right or to the left. You must not follow other gods to serve them.


Then we took their land and gave it to the people in the family groups of Reuben and Gad, and to half the family group of Manasseh.


If you obey all the commands in this agreement, then you will continue to succeed in everything you do.


Then Moses called Joshua. All the people of Israel watched while Moses said to Joshua, “Be strong and brave. You will lead these people into the land that the Lord promised to give to their ancestors. [201] You will help the people of Israel take this land to be their own.


You must not add to the things that I command you. And you must not take anything away. You must obey the commands of the Lord your God that I have given you.


“So, you people must be careful to do all the things the Lord commanded you. Don’t stop following God!


Moses was the Lord’s servant. Joshua son of Nun was Moses’ helper. After Moses died, the Lord spoke to Joshua. The Lord said,


Always remember the things written in that book of law. Study that book day and night. Then you can be sure to obey the things that are written there. If you do this, then you will be wise and successful in everything you do.


Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don’t be scared, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”


Long ago the Lord commanded his servant Moses to do this. Then Moses commanded Joshua to do this. So Joshua obeyed God. Joshua did everything that the Lord had commanded Moses.


“You must be careful to obey all the things the Lord has commanded us. Obey everything that is written in the Book of the Law [73] of Moses. Don’t turn away from that law.
