If a non-Israelite lives with you, and if he wants to share in the Lord’s Passover, then he must be circumcised. [78] Then he will be the same as any other citizen of Israel, so he can share in the meal. But if a man is not circumcised, then he cannot eat the Passover meal.


On the eighth day, the baby boy must be circumcised. [148]


When the baby was eight days old, they came to circumcise {\cf2\super [19]} him. They wanted to name him Zechariah because this was his father’s name.


Zechariah and Elizabeth were truly good people before God. They did everything the Lord (God) commanded and told people to do. They were without fault.


When the baby was eight days old, he was circumcised, {\cf2\super [30]} and he was named Jesus. This name was given by the angel before the baby began to grow inside Mary.


God made an agreement with Abraham; the sign for this agreement was circumcision. {\cf2\super [126]} And so when Abraham had a son, he circumcised his son when he was eight days old. His son’s name was Isaac. Isaac also circumcised his son Jacob. And Jacob did the same for \{his sons. These sons later became\} the twelve fathers. {\cf2\super [127]}


“You must be careful to do everything I command you. Don’t add anything to the things I tell you, and don’t take anything away.
