When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a barbarous people:


Who giveth to beasts their food: and to the young ravens that call upon him.


I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices: and thy burnt offerings are always in my sight.

6 Thus saith the Lord: Let thy voice cease from weeping, and thy eyes from tears: for there is a reward for thy work, saith the Lord: and they shall return out of the land of the enemy.


5 And I spoke to them of the captivity all the words of the Lord, which he had shewn me.


And he said to me: Son of man, dost thou think these bones shall live? And I answered: O Lord God, thou knowest.


Howl, thou fir tree, for the cedar is fallen, for the mighty are laid waste: howl, ye oaks of Basan, because the fenced forest is cut down.


My covenant was with him of life and peace: and I gave him fear: and he feared me, and he was afraid before my name.


But thou shalt return, and hear the voice of the Lord thy God, and shalt do all the commandments which I command thee this day:
