Then Job answered, and said:


Unto the end. A psalm for David: The heavens shew forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of his hands.


Day to day uttereth speech, and night to night sheweth knowledge.


The princes of the people are gathered together, with the God of Abraham: for the strong gods of the earth are exceedingly exalted.


2 The beautiful places of the wilderness shall grow fat: and the hills shall be girded about with joy,


I stick fast in the mire of the deep: and there is no sure standing. I am come into the depth of the sea: and a tempest hath overwhelmed me.


Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?


I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.


4 And the people murmured against Moses, saying: What shall we drink?


And the people shall rush one upon another, and every man against his neighbour: the child shall make it tumult against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.


1 And he shall stretch forth his hands under him, as he that swimmeth stretcheth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down his glory with the dashing of his hands.


He shall pursue them, he shall pass in peace, no path shall appear after his feet.


1 The house of our holiness, and of our glory, where our fathers praised thee, is burnt with fire, and all our lovely things are turned into ruins.


8 For thus saith the Lord: Behold I will cast away far off the inhabitants of the land at this time: and I will afflict them, so that they may be found.
