Unto the end, a psalm for David himself. Blessed is he that understandeth concerning the needy and the poor : the Lord will deliver him in the evil day.


1 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope thou in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance, and my God.


1 The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector.


0 For thy mercy is magnified even to the heavens: and thy truth unto the clouds.

5 And they asked him, and said to him: Why then dost thou baptize, if thou be not Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet?


2 But as many as received him, he gave them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in his name.
