3 And he slept with his fathers: and he died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.


6 And it came to pass when all our enemies heard of it, that all nations which were round about us, were afraid, and were cast down within themselves, for they perceived that this work was the work of God.


I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I be not moved.


He will guide the mild in judgment: he will teach the meek his ways.


1 Blessed be the Lord, for he hath shewn his wonderful mercy to me in a fortified city.


Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth.


The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.


The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought: and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God.


7 The wicked shall be turned into hell, all the nations that forget God.


2 A man that is an apostate, an unprofitable man, walketh with a perverse mouth,

And David came to Nobe to Achimelech the priest: and Achimelech was astonished at David's coming. And he said to him: Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?


That all of you have conspired against me, and there is no one to inform me, especially when even my son hath entered into league with the soil of Isai? There is not one of you that pitieth my case, nor that giveth me any information: because my son hath raised up my servant against me, plotting against me to this day.


9 And the Ziphites went up to Saul in Gabaa, saying: Lo, doth not David lie hid with us in the strong holds of the wood, in mount Hachila, which is on the right hand of the desert.


Then Achis gave him Siceleg that day: for which reason Siceleg belongeth to the kings of Juda unto this day.
