3 Who is wise, and will keep these things: and will understand the mercies of the Lord?


1 Because they had exasperated the words of God: and provoked the counsel of the most High:


3 For he was mindful of us in our affliction: for his mercy endureth for ever.


That they may put their hope in God and may not forget the works of God: and may seek his commandments.


9 God heard, and despised them, and he reduced Israel exceedingly as it were to nothing.


9 You shall have a song as in the night of the sanctified solemnity, and joy of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe, to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel.


And there shall be faith in thy times: riches of salvation, wisdom and knowledge: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.


And he said to me: Thou art my servant Israel, for in thee will I glory.


2 Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt: the covenant which they made void, and I had dominion over them, saith the Lord.


7 And here is hope for thy last end, saith the Lord: and the children shall return to their own borders.


4 We have heard the fame thereof, our hands grow feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, as a woman in labor.


If thou sound but once, the princes and the heads of the multitude of Israel shall come to thee.


5 Rather choosing to be afflicted with the people of God, than to have the pleasure of sin for a time,


And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels.


That you may be mindful of those words which I told you before from the holy prophets, and of your apostles, of the precepts of the Lord and Saviour.


But of this one thing be not ignorant, my beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
