The Lord hath looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there be any that understand and seek God.


The sorrows of hell encompassed me: and the snares of death prevented me.


4 from the enemies of thy hand. O Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life: their belly is filled from thy hidden stores. They are full of children: and they have left to their little ones the rest of their substance.


The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.


3 And in it he hath prepared the instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn.


The earth is melted, and all that dwell therein: I have established the pillars thereof.


6 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee: and they were afraid, and the depths were troubled.


9 Arise, O Lord, let not man be strengthened: let the Gentiles be judged in thy sight.


0 Appoint, O Lord, a lawgiver over them: that the Gentiles may know themselves to be but men.


For he hath said in his heart: I shall not be moved from generation to generation, and shall be without evil.


He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that formed the eye, doth he not consider?


9 Thy dead men shall live, my slain shall rise again: awake, and give praise, ye that dwell in the dust: for thy dew is the dew of the light: and the land of the giants thou shalt pull down into ruin.


8 Thy heart shall meditate fear: where is the learned? where is he that pondereth the words of the law? where is the teacher of little ones?


Let the mountains hear the judgment of the Lord, and the strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord will enter into judgment with his people, and he will plead against Israel.


Who said to his mother: The eleven hundred pieces of silver, which thou hadst put aside for thyself, and concerning which thou didst swear in my hearing, behold I have, and they are with me. And she said to him: Blessed be my son by the Lord.
