6 And Libanus shall not be enough to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.


I was angry with my people, I have polluted my inheritance, and have given them into thy bend: thou hast shewn no mercy to them: upon the ancient thou hast laid thy yoke exceeding heavy.


And the children of the stranger that adhere to the Lord, to worship him, and to love his name, to be his servants: every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and that holdeth fast my covenant:


I will go therefore to the great men, and I will speak to them: for they known the way of the Lord, the judgement of their God: and behold these have together broken the yoke more, and have burst the bonds.

Even the Lord the God of hosts, the Lord is his memorial.


But with a flood that passeth by, he will make an utter end of the place thereof: and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

4 And you have said: What have we spoken against thee? You have said: He laboureth in vain that serveth God, and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinances, and that we have walked sorrowful before the Lord of hosts?

6 And if any man think himself to be religious, not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his own heart, this man's religion is vain.


4 Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow.


Yet so that you observe attentively, and in work fulfil the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you: that you love the Lord your God, and walk in all his ways, and keep all his commandments, and cleave to him, and serve him with all your heart, and with all your soul.
