2 Unless the God of my father Abraham, and the fear of Isaac had stood by me, peradventure now thou hadst sent me away naked: God beheld my affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesterday.


If at any time he said: The speckled shall be thy wages: all the sheep brought forth speckled: but when he said on the contrary: Thou shalt take all the white ones for thy wages: all the flocks brought forth white ones.


He hath hedged in my path round about, and I cannot pass, and in my way he hath set darkness.


1 They forgot God, who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt,


3 because they exasperated his spirit. And he distinguished with his lips.


8 And he gave up their cattle to the hail, and their stock to the fire.


4 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.


7 And the children of Israel came into Elim, where there were twelve fountains of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped by the waters.


But the sixth day let them provide for to bring in: and let it be double to that they were wont to gather every day.


And the Lord said to Moses: God before the people, and take with thee of the ancients of Israel: and take in thy hand the rod wherewith thou didst strike the river, and go.


Behold I will stand there before thee, upon the rock Horeb: and thou shalt strike the rock, and water shall come out of it that the people may drink. Moses did so before the ancients of Israel:


0 Josue did as Moses had spoken, and he fought against Amalec; but Moses, and Aaron, and Hur went up upon the top of the hill.


And when he had received them, he fashioned them by founders' work, and made of them a molten calf. And they said: These are thy gods, O Israel, that have brought thee out of the land of Egypt.


3 For since the time that I went in to Pharao to speak in thy name, he hath afflicted thy people: and thou hast not delivered them.


For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I have given Egypt for thy atonement, Ethiopia and Saba for thee.


They answered again and said: Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will declare the interpretation of it.


Behold I will send you Elias the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.


Our soul is dry, our eyes behold nothing else but manna.


and when the dew fell in the night upon the camp, the manna also fell with it.


He said to them: Hear my words: if there be among you a prophet of the Lord, I will appear to him in a vision, or I will speak to him in a dream.


6 He could not bring the people into the land for which he had sworn, therefore did he kill them in the wilderness.


And said to all the multitude of the children of Israel: The land which we have gone round is very good:


7 And we ourselves will go armed and ready for battle before the children of Israel, until we bring them in unto their places. Our little ones, and all we have, shall be in walled cities, for fear of the ambushes of the inhabitants.


5 Land of Zabulon and land of Nephthalim, the way of the sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:


4 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, fly from the service of idols.


8 Behold Israel according to the flesh: are not they, that eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar ?


2 And said to me: Arise, and go down from hence quickly: for thy people, which thou hast brought out of Egypt, have quickly forsaken the way that thou hast shewn them, and have made to themselves a molten idol.


8 And to whom did he swear, that they should not enter into his rest: but to them that were incredulous?
