Now when these things were done, the word of the Lord came to Abram by a vision, saying: Fear not, Abram, I am thy protector, and thy reward exceeding great.


Now therefore restore the man his wife, for he is a prophet: and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: but if thou wilt not restore her, know that thou shalt surely die, thou and all that are thins.


3 And the Lord leaning upon the ladder, saying to him: I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac; the land, wherein thou sleepest, I will give to thee and to thy seed.


7 And trembling he said: How terrible is this place! this is no other but the house of God, and the gate of heaven.


And he said to them: Hear my dream which I dreamed.

God said to him: I am the most mighty God of thy father: fear not, go down into Egypt, for I will make a great nation of thee there.


And I have been with thee wheresoever thou hast walked, and have slain all thy enemies from before thy face: and I have made thee a great man, like unto the name of the great ones that are on the earth.

I knew thee in the desert, in the land of the wilderness.


Proclaim ye this among the nations: prepare war, rouse up the strong: let them come, let all the men of war come up.


6 Therefore thus saith the Lord: I will return to Jerusalem in mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts: and the building line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.


Lying down he hath slept as a lion, and as a lioness, whom none shall dare to rouse. He that blesseth thee, shall also himself be blessed: he that curseth thee shall be reckoned accursed.


And king Herod hearing this, was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.


And the same John had his garment of camels' hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins: and his meat was locusts and wild honey.


9 For I say to you, you shall not see me henceforth till you say: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.


And when he was sitting on mount Olivet, the disciples came to him privately, saying: Tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the consummation of the world?


And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not troubled. For these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

9 And the angel answering, said to him: I am Gabriel, who stand before God: and am sent to speak to thee, and to bring thee these good tidings.

And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord was come into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, and the earth rang again.
