3 Know you not what I and my fathers have done to all the people of the lands? have the gods of any nations and lands been able to deliver their country out of my hand?


But Zorobabel, and Josue, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel said to them: You have nothing to do with us to build a house to our God, but we ourselves alone will build to the Lord our God, as Cyrus king of the Persians hath commanded us.


The Lord hath said to me: Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.


He that worketh pride shall not dwell in the midst of my house: he that speaketh unjust things did not prosper before my eyes.


They are bound, and have fallen; but we are risen, and are set upright.


5 My eyes are ever towards the Lord: for he shall pluck my feet out of the snare.


2 Deliver me not over to the will of them that trouble me; for unjust witnesses have risen up against me; and iniquity hath lied to itself.


I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end : I walked sorrowful all the day long.


For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.


making wars to cease even to the end of the earth. He shall destroy the bow, and break the weapons: and the shield he shall burn in the fire.


2 Understand these things, you that forget God; lest he snatch you away, and there be none to deliver you.


God hath spoken in his holy place: I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem; and will mete out the vale of tabernacles.


0 For my enemies have spoken against me; and they that watched my soul have consulted together,


4 O God, the wicked are risen up against me, and the assembly of the mighty have sought my soul: and they have not set thee before their eyes.


7 The wicked shall be turned into hell, all the nations that forget God.


The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things.


7 The just is first accuser of himself: his friend cometh, and shall search him.


2 And the bulwarks of thy high walls shall fall, and be brought low, and shall be pulled down to the ground, even to the dust.


0 For after days and a year, you that are confident shall be troubled: for the vintage is at an end, the gathering shall come no more.


Hearken to me, you that know what is just, my people who have my law in your heart: fear ye not the reproach of men, and be not afraid of their blasphemies.


For he shall be like tamaric in the desert, and he shall not see when good shall come: but he shall dwell in dryness in the desert in a salt land, and not inhabited.


5 Then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes, sitting upon the throne of David, and riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Juda, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall be inhabited forever.


From the thirteenth year of Josias the son of Ammon king of Juda until this day: this is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising before day, and speaking, and you have not hearkened.


9 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying:


3 Caph. For he hath not willingly afflicted, nor cast off the children of men.


Then I set forth a decree, that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought in before me, and that they should shew me the interpretation of the dream.


And four great beasts, different one from another, came up out of the sea.


Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four I will not convert it: because they have thrashed Galaad with iron wains.


0 At that time, when I will bring you: and at the time that I will gather you: for I will give you a name, and praise among all the people of the earth, when I shall have brought back your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.


1 And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top even to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks were rent.


And behold a leper came and adored him, saying: Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.


2 And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem: and it was winter.


5 If he called them gods, to whom to word of God was spoken, and the scripture cannot be broken;


0 For as you also in times past did not believe God, but now have obtained mercy, through their unbelief;


8 But be zealous for that which is good in a good thing always: and not only when I am present with you.


Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
