2 Are there any among the graven things of the Gentiles that can send rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou the Lord our God, whom we have looked for? for thou hast made all these things.


9 Are not my words as a fire, saith the Lord: and as a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?


3 If therefore this people, or the prophet, or the priest shall ask thee, saying: What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt say to them: You are the burden: for I will cast you away, saith the Lord.


7 Then Sedecias the king, sending, took him: and asked him secretly in his house, and said: Is there, thinkest thou, any word from the Lord? And Jeremias said: There is. And he said: Thou shalt be delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon.


9 And woe to them that are with child, and that give suck in those days.


2 And from the fig tree learn a parable: When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, you know that summer is nigh.


Now the pasch, the festival day of the Jews, was near at hand.


2 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.


6 If therefore the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.


7 And as for you, let the unction, which you have received from him, abide in you. And you have no need that any man teach you; but as his unction teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie. And as it hath taught you, abide in him.


Dearly beloved, we are now the sons of God; and it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know, that, when he shall appear, we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is.


2 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and his charity is perfected in us.


7 And that no man might buy or sell, but he that hath the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
