The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.

2 And Jesus answering, said: You know not what you ask. Can you drink the chalice that I shall drink? They say to him: We can.


1 Be not solicitous therefore, saying, What shall we eat: or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we be clothed?

4 But shalt give him for his way out of thy flocks, and out of thy barnfloor, and thy winepress, wherewith the Lord thy God shall bless thee.


9 The Lord shall increase thy plagues, and the plagues of thy seed, plagues great and lasting, infirmities grievous and perpetual.


7 Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.


8 And he prayed again: and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
