5 Behold I have told it to you, beforehand.


1 And when they shall bring you into the synagogues, and to magistrates and powers, be not solicitous how or what you shall answer, or what you shall say;


8 Take heed therefore how you hear. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given: and whosoever hath not, that also which he thinketh he hath, shall be taken away from him.


Of sin: because they believed not in me.


1 A woman, when she is in labour, hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she hath brought forth the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.


3 These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress: but have confidence, I have overcome the world.


I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.


5 Neither is he served with men's hands, as though he needed any thing; seeing it is he who giveth to all life, and breath, and all things:


8 Saying: Commanding we commanded you, that you should not teach in this name; and behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and you have a mind to bring the blood of this man upon us.


6 For before these days rose up Theodas, affirming himself to be somebody, to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all that believed him were scattered, and brought to nothing.


And if our gospel be also hid, it is hid to them that are lost,
