1 Now a certain old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came to him and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: and they told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.


Her daughters also that are in the field, shall be slain by the sword: and they shall know that I am the Lord.


3 Thus saith the Lord God: Because they say of you: Thou art a devourer of men, and one that suffocatest thy nation:


That thy alms may be in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee.


2 And he said to Jesus: Lord, remember me when thou shalt come into thy kingdom.


5 But love ye your enemies: do good, and lend, hoping for nothing thereby: and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Highest; for he is kind to the unthankful, and to the evil.


3 For there is no good tree that bringeth forth evil fruit; nor an evil tree that bringeth forth good fruit.


3 The priest also of Jupiter that was before the city, bringing oxen and garlands before the gate, would have offered sacrifice with the people.


And many, taken with the palsy, and that were lame, were healed.


Therefore he that resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God. And they that resist, purchase to themselves damnation.


1 What will you ? shall I come to you with a rod; or in charity, and in the spirit of meekness ?
