8 The accusation, which you have sent to us, hath been plainly read before me,


2 Now therefore give not your daughters to their sons, and take not their daughters for your sons, and seek not their peace, nor their prosperity forever: that you may be strengthened, and may eat the good things of the land, and may have your children your heirs for ever.


And I said to them: The thing you do is not good: why walk you not in the fear of our God, that we be not exposed to the reproaches of the Gentiles our enemies?


But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea.


9 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.


1 And the third took her. And in like manner all the seven, and they left no children, and died.


0 And the chief priests and the scribes stood by, earnestly accusing him.


Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.


For one believeth that he may eat all things: but he that is weak, let him eat herbs.


0 And that his heart be not lifted up with pride over his brethren, nor decline to the right or to the left, that he and his sons may reign a long time over Israel.
