In my affliction I called upon the Lord, and I cried to my God: And he heard my voice from his holy temple: and my cry before him came into his ears.


8 For in his lifetime his soul will be blessed: and he will praise thee when thou shalt do well to him.


4 And I have been scourged all the day; and my chastisement hath been in the mornings.

But he answering, saith to them: What did Moses command you?


8 That he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torments.


1 And he said to him: If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe, if one rise again from the dead.


Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him.


2 And if you love them that love you, what thanks are to you? for sinners also love those that love them.


Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.


And when Paul and Barnabas had no small contest with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of the other side, should go up to the apostles and priests to Jerusalem about this question.


5 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again in fear; but you have received the spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry: Abba (Father).


2 May the Lord afflict thee with miser- able want, with the fever and with cold, with burning and with heat, and with corrupted air and with blasting, and pursue thee till thou perish.


And the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.


2 And may the Lord multiply you, and make you abound in charity towards one another, and towards all men: as we do also towards you,


4 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered strength from weakness, became valiant in battle, put to flight the armies of foreigners:


4 As for you, let that which you have heard from the beginning, abide in you. If that abide in you, which you have heard from the beginning, you also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.


And the seven angels, who had the seven trumpets, prepared themselves to sound the trumpet.
