And before Isaias was gone out of the middle of the court, the word of the Lord came to him, saying:


4 So the soldiers left the spoils, and all that they had taken, before the princes and all the multitude.


1 Which thou hast commanded by the hand of thy servants the prophets, saying: The land which you go to possess, is an unclean land, according to the uncleanness of the people, and of other lands, with their abominations, who have filled it from mouth to mouth with their filth.


And this shall be a sign to thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this word which he hath spoken:


Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall hear: thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou wilt take away the chain out of the midst of thee, and cease to stretch out the finger, and to speak that which profiteth not.


7 Who slew me not from the womb, that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb an everlasting conception.


For thou art not sent to a people of a profound speech, and of an unknown tongue, but to the house of Israel:


0 And the pride of Israel shall be humbled before his face: and they have not returned to the Lord their God, nor have they sought him in all these.


0 And God saw their works, that they were turned from their evil way: and God had mercy with regard to the evil which he had said that he would do to them, and he did it not.


And Jonas was exceedingly troubled, and was angry:


Therefore will I lament and howl: I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and a mourning like the ostriches.


And every man shall sit under his vine, and under his fig tree, and there shall be none to make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken.


What do ye devise against the Lord? he will make an utter end: there shall not rise a double affliction.


Their horses are lighter than leopards, and swifter than evening wolves; and their horsemen shall be spread abroad: for their horsemen shall come from afar, they shall fly as an eagle that maketh haste to eat.


6 Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known.


9 And stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said: Behold my mother and my brethren.


3 Is any of you sad? Let him pray. Is he cheerful in mind? Let him sing.


4 And the fruits of the desire of thy soul are departed from thee, and all fat and goodly things are perished from thee, and they shall find them no more at all.
