9 If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.


Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.


9 And for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.


WHEN Jesus therefore understood that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus maketh more disciples, and baptizeth more than John,


1 Others said: This is the Christ. But some said: Doth the Christ come out of Galilee?


And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked.


For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written: The reproaches of them that reproached thee, fell upon me.


For every one shall bear his own burden.


1 Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield, to them that are exercised by it, the most peaceable fruit of justice.


And by this we know that we have known him, if we keep his commandments.


We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow helpers of the truth.
