This is the book of the generation of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him to the likeness of God.


Whosoever shall shed man's blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God.


0 And the king said: What have I to do with you, ye sons of Sarvia? Let him alone and let him curse: for the Lord hath bid him curse David: and who is he that shall dare say, why hath he done so?


6 And he answering, said: My lord, O king, my servant despised me: for I thy servant spoke to him to saddle me an ass, that I might get on and go with the king: for I thy servant am lame.


5 For we are sojourners before thee, and strangers, as were all our fathers. Our days upon earth are as a shadow, and there is no stay.


5 And the Lord magnified Solomon over all Israel: and gave him the glory of a reign, such as no king of Israel had before him.


4 Thou seest it, for thou considerest labour and sorrow: that thou mayst deliver them into thy hands. To thee is the poor man left: thou wilt be a helper to the orphan.


Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine and Ephraim the protection of my head. Juda is my king:


The Lord is gracious and merciful: patient and plenteous in mercy.


Who keepeth truth for ever: who executeth judgment for them that suffer wrong: who giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth them that are fettered:


Perfect thou my goings in thy paths: that my footsteps be not moved.


I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy. For thou best regarded my humility, thou hast saved my soul out of distresses.


O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.


O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings.


All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit.


Their madness is according to the likeness of a serpent: like the deaf asp that stoppeth her ears:


Thou hast moved the earth, and hast troubled it: heal thou the breaches thereof, for it has been moved.


1 God hath spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongeth to God,


1 But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.


In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway.


9 Only this I have found, that God made man right, and he hath entangled himself with an infinity of questions. Who is as the wise man? and who hath known the resolution of the word?


1 That made men sin by word, and supplanted him that reproved them in the gate, and declined in vain from the just.


And after they had consulted together, they bought with them the potter's field, to be a burying place for strangers.


That thy alms may be in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee.


4 For David ascended not into heaven; but he himself said: The Lord said to my Lord, sit thou on my right hand,


2 Even the justice of God, by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe in him: for there is no distinction:


6 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor the church of God.


2 That we may be unto the praise of his glory, we who before hoped Christ:


But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, being reproved by the law as transgressors.


From whence are wars and contentions among you? Are they not hence, from your concupiscences, which war in your members?


2 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you they ministered those things which are now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, the Holy Ghost being sent down from heaven, on whom the angels desire to look.


2 Arise therefore in the night with the people that is with thee and he hid in the field:
