The people that walked in darkness, have seen a great light: to them that dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen.


1 For thus saith the Lord to me: As he hath taught me, with a strong arm, that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:


0 Therefore fear thou not, my servant Jacob, saith the Lord, neither be dismayed, O Israel: for behold, I will save thee from a country afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity: and Jacob shall return, and be at rest, and abound with all good things, and there shall be none whom he may fear:


0 And Baruch read out of the volume the words of Jeremias in the house of the Lord, in the treasury of Gamarias the son of Saphan the scribe, in the upper court, in the entry of the new gate of the house of the Lord, in the hearing of all the people.


Now Jeremias walked freely in the midst of the people for they had not as yet cast him into prison.


And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.


And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice: If any man shall adore the beast and his image, and receive his character in his forehead, or in his hand;


6 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
