7 And when they had brought them, he gave them food in exchange for their horses, and sheep, and oxen, end asses and he maintained them that year for the exchange of their cattle.


The king therefore said to Joseph: Thy father and thy brethren are come to thee.


The land of Egypt is before thee: make them dwell in the best place, and give them the land of Gessen. And if thou knowest that there are industrious men among them, make them rulers over my cattle.


3 Because he hath forsaken me, and hath adored Astarthe the goddess of the Sidonians, and Chamos the god of Moab, and Moloch the god of the children of Ammon: and hath not walked in my ways, to do justice before me, and to keep my precepts, and judgments as did David his father.

In the third month of the departure of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on this day they came into the wilderness of Sinai:


2 And the Lord hardened Pharao's heart, and he hearkened not unto them, as the Lord had spoken to Moses.


4 And the hail and fire mixed with it drove on together: and it was of so great bigness, as never before was seen in the whole land of Egypt since that nation was founded.


The perverse way of a man is strange: but as for him that is pure, his work is right.
