4 For Aman, the son of Amadathi of the race of Agag, the enemy and adversary of the Jews, had devised evil against them, to kill them and destroy them: and had cast Phur, that is, the lot.


7 And the things that they suffered, and that were afterwards changed, the Jews took upon themselves and their seed, and upon all that had a mind to be joined to their religion, so that it should be lawful for none to pass these days without solemnity: which the writing testifieth, and certain times require, as the years continually succeed one another.


4 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.

4 The slothful hideth his hand under his armpit, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth.


3 Because the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:


0 Remove anger from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh. For youth and pleasure are vain.


And they shall fear high things, and they shall be afraid in the way, the almond tree shall flourish, the locust shall be made fat, and the caper tree shall be destroyed: because man shall go into the house of his eternity, and the mourners shall go round about in the street.


Vanity of vanities, said Ecclesiastes, and all things are vanity.


5 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing before him: for he doth according to his will, I as well with the powers of heaven, as among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none that can resist his hand, and say to him: Why hast thou done it?


3 And I will destroy thy graven things, and thy statues out of the midst of thee: and thou shalt no more adore the works of thy hands.


0 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he paid the debt.


Therefore when thou dost an almsdeed, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be honoured by men. Amen I say to you, they have received their reward.


2 And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off;


0 Therefore, whilst we have time, let us work good to all men, but especially to those who are of the household of the faith.


5 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church, and delivered himself up for it:


2 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate.


3 Then David said to his young men: Let every man gird on his sword. And they girded on every man his sword. And David also girded on his sword: and there followed David about four hundred men: and two hundred remained with the baggage.
