0 The Lord hath performed his word which he spoke : and I stand in the room of David my father, and sit upon the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised: and have built a house to the name of the Lord the God of Israel.


4 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father what thou hast promised him: with thy mouth thou didst speak, and with thy hands thou hast performed, as this day proveth.


But they hearkened not: but were seduced by Manasses, to do evil more than the nations which the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.


2 Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Behold I will bring on evils upon Jerusalem and Juda: that whosoever shall hear of them, both his ears shall tingle.


4 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David, and Ochozias his son reigned in Iris stead.


5 He gave also gold for the golden candlesticks, and their lamps, according to the dimensions of every candlestick, and the lamps thereof. In like manner also he gave silver by weight for the silver candlesticks, and for their lamps according to the diversity of the dimensions of them.


So Manasses seduced Juda, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to do evil beyond all the nations, which the Lord had destroyed before the face of the children of Israel.


1 And that thou wouldst hear the prayer which thy servant prayeth in it: hearken then to the prayers of thy servant, and of thy people Israel. Whosoever shall pray in this place, hear thou from thy dwelling place, that is, from heaven, and shew mercy.


3 Dissemblers and crafty men prove the wrath of God, neither shall they cry when they are bound.


For there is no regard to their death, nor is there strength in their stripes.


8 I will keep my mercy for him for ever: and my covenant faithful to him.


6 his seed shall endure for ever.


1 Thine are the heavens, and thine is the earth: the world and the fulness thereof thou hast founded:


6 Behold, I have graven thee in my hands: thy walls are always before my eyes.


4 And the Lord shall destroy out of Israel the head and the tail, him that bendeth down, and him that holdeth back, in one day.

The Persians, Ethiopians, and Libyans with them, all with shields and helmets.

6 For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?


2 Take heed, brethren, lest perhaps there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, to depart from the living God.


4 Or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of the good:
