2 It is a fire that devoureth even to destruction, and rooteth up all things that spring.


4 For what shall I do when God shall rise to judge? and when he shall examine, what shall I answer him?


3 And have not heard the voice of them that taught me, and have not in- dined my ear to masters?


2 But he that is an adulterer, for the folly of his heart shall destroy his own soul:


4 Therefore saith the Lord the God of hosts, the mighty one of Israel: Ah! I will comfort myself over my adversaries: and I will be revenged of my enemies.


3 And thorns and nettles shall grow up in its houses, and the thistle in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be the habitation of dragons, and the pasture of ostriches.


He that sacrificeth an ox, is as if he slew a man: he that killeth a sheep in sacrifice, as if he should brain a dog: he that offereth an oblation, as if he should offer swine's blood; he that remembereth incense, as if he should bless an idol. All these things have they chosen in their ways, and their soul is delighted in their abominations.


For the destruction of the land, because there came no rain upon the earth, the husbandmen were confounded, they covered their heads.


Son of man, these men have placed their uncleannesses in their hearts, and have set up before their face the stumblingblock of their iniquity : and shall I answer when they inquire of me?


2 The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold a greater than Solomon here.


2 And he that sweareth by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.


Then were gathered together the chief priests and ancients of the people into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiphas:


6 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.


0 Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, until all these things be done.


When Jesus therefore had lifted up his eyes, and seen that a very great multitude cometh to him, he said to Philip: Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?


7 To God the only wise, through Jesus Christ, to whom be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.


8 But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice.


2 That you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the conversation of Israel, and strangers to the testament, having no hope of the promise, and without God in this world.


3 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind:


When Christ shall appear, who is your life, then you also shall appear with him in glory.


7 Every best gift, and every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of alteration.


For this they are wilfully ignorant of, that the heavens were before, and the earth out of water, and through water, consisting by the word of God.


2 But these men, as irrational beasts, naturally tending to the snare and to destruction, blaspheming those things which they know not, shall perish in their corruption,


But if we walk in the light, as he also is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.


5 And this is the promise which he hath promised us, life everlasting.


0 But you, my beloved, building yourselves upon you most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,


And he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.
