1 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour, and said: I will no more curse the earth for the sake of man: for the imagination and thought of man's heart are prone to evil from his youth: therefore I will no more destroy every living soul as I have done.


7 Thy dwelling and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy way I knew before, and thy rage against me.


3 By the way that he came, he shall return: and into this city he shall not come, saith the Lord.

1 For he hath said in his heart: God hath forgotten, he hath turned away his face not to see to the end.


If I take my wings early in the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea:


4 Who teacheth my hands to war: and thou hast made my arms like a brazen bow.


Unto the end. A psalm for David: The heavens shew forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of his hands.


The king of Egypt said to them: Why do you Moses and Aaron draw off the people from their works? Get you gone to your burdens.


3 The fear of the Lord is the lesson of wisdom: and humility goeth before glory.


6 For a just mall shall fall seven times and shall rise again: but the wicked shall fall down into evil.


The captain over fifty, and the honourable in countenance, and the counsellor, and the architect, and the skilful in eloquent speech.


Blessed is the man that doth this, and the son of man that shall lay hold on this: that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, that keepeth his hands from doing any evil.


5 And truth hath been forgotten: and he that departed from evil, lay open to be a prey: and the Lord saw, and it appeared evil in his eyes, because there is no judgment.


2 The least shall become a thousand, and a little one a most strong nation: I the Lord will suddenly do this thing in its time.


7 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet: What hath the Lord answered thee? and what hath the Lord spoken?


2 For my foolish people have not known me: they are foolish and senseless children: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.


Hath not lent upon usury, nor taken any increase: hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, and hath executed true judgment between man and man:


Then came in all the king's wise men, but they could neither read the writing, nor declare the interpretation to the king.


7 But she said: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat of the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters.


9 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they called him by his father's name Zachary.


9 Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers,


3 And I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that I have often purposed to come unto you, (and have been hindered hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.


Who also will confirm you unto the end without crime, in the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.


For the wisdom of the flesh is death; but the wisdom of the spirit is life and peace.


8 And the base things of the world, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that he might bring to nought things that are:


Therefore judge not before the time; until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise from God.


9 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is scandalized, and I am not on fire?


See the things that are according to outward appearance. If any man trust to himself, that he is Christ's, let him think this again with himself, that as he is Christ's, so are we also.


4 But shalt give him for his way out of thy flocks, and out of thy barnfloor, and thy winepress, wherewith the Lord thy God shall bless thee.


6 For unto Thessalonica also you sent once and again for my use.


3 But we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved of God, for that God hath chosen you firstfruits unto salvation, in sanctification of the spirit, and faith of the truth:


7 Exhort your hearts, and confirm you in every good work and word.


So Christ also did not glorify himself, that he might be made a high priest: but he that said unto him: Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.


For it is impossible for those who were once illuminated, have tasted also the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,


1 Searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them did signify: when it foretold those sufferings that are in Christ, and the glories that should follow:


Wherefore it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him, shall not be confounded.
