3 And they consecrated to the Lord six hundred oxen, and three thousand sheep.


4 But the priests were few, and were not enough to flay the holocausts: wherefore the Levites their brethren helped them, till the work was ended, and priests were sanctified, for the Levites are sanctified with an easier rite than the priests.


5 So there were many holocausts, and the fat of peace offerings, and the libations of holocausts: and the service of the house of the Lord was completed.


Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, who hath accomplished in deed that which he spoke to David my father, saying:


But Zorobabel, and Josue, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel said to them: You have nothing to do with us to build a house to our God, but we ourselves alone will build to the Lord our God, as Cyrus king of the Persians hath commanded us.


He that worketh pride shall not dwell in the midst of my house: he that speaketh unjust things did not prosper before my eyes.

And they went forthwith and took them as they lay, vested with linen tunicks, and cast them forth, as had been commanded them.


0 And when all the multitude cried out, and would have stoned them, the glory of the Lord appeared over the tabernacle of the covenant to all the children of Israel.


7 And when they were departed from their tents round about, Dathan and Abiron coming out stood in the entry of their pavilions with their wives and children, and all the people.


8 And her neighbours and kinsfolks heard that the Lord had shewed his great mercy towards her, and they congratulated with her.
