0 I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will say: I live for ever.


9 But we are not the children of withdrawing unto perdition, but of faith to the saving of the soul.


In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.


7 For in one hour are so great riches come to nought; and every shipmaster, and all that sail into the lake, and mariners, and as many as work in the sea, stood afar off.


7 And he said to David: Thou art more just than I: for thou hast done good to me, and I have rewarded thee with evil.

1 This shall not be an occasion of grief to thee, and a scruple of heart to my lord, that thou hast shed innocent blood, or hast revenged thyself: and when the Lord shall have done well by my lord, thou shalt remember thy handmaid.


3 Moreover David took also Achinoam of Jezrahel: and they were both of them his wives.


4 But Saul gave Michol his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti, the son of Lais, who was of Gallium.


And they cut off Saul's head, and stripped him of his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the temples of their idols, and among their people.
