5 Moreover the altar also that was at Bethel, and the high place, which Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin, had made: both the altar, and the high place he broke down and burnt, and reduced to powder, and burnt the grove.


6 And the Lord stirred up against Joram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who border on the Ethiopians.


5 And the Lord was awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that hath been surfeited with wine.


7 Who say to the deep: Be thou desolate, and I will dry up thy rivers.


9 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me all days : and that it may be well with them, and with their children after them.


3 And fields shall be purchased in this land: whereof you say that it is desolate, because there remaineth neither man nor beast, and it is given into the hands of the Chaldeans.

3 A tumult of chariots hath astonished the inhabitants of Lachis: it is the beginning of sin to the daughter of Sion, for in thee were found the crimes of Israel.


2 And this shall be the plague where with the Lord shall strike all nations that have fought against Jerusalem: the flesh of every one shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.


4 And the Lord said to Moses: Fear him not, for I have delivered him and all his people, and his country into thy hand: and thou shalt do to him as thou didst to Sehon the king of the Amorrhites, the inhabitant of Hesebon.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


8 Then he saith to them: My soul is sorrowful even unto death: stay you here, and watch with me.


0 For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let their habitation become desolate, and let there be none to dwell therein. And his bishopric let another take.


7 Who was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.


1 You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you also.


Be ye children of the Lord your God: you shall not cut yourselves, no, make any baldness for the dead;

9 Therefore the spirit of the Lord came upon Jephte, and going round Galaad, and Manasses, and Maspha of Galaad, and passing over from thence to the children of Ammon,
